Fifty Shades of Malus on Hand Dyed 72/25 Blue Faced Leicester Tussah Silk Combed Wool Top 4 oz

Fifty Shades of Malus is a variegated colorway with rich pinks, reds and a touch of wine - reminescent of Cosmic Crisps, Pink Ladies, Gala, Red Delicious and maybe even a Black Arkansas.

Blue Faced Leicester (or commonly known as BFL) wool is one of the finest long wools.  Our particular source is approximately 26 micron and with a 3-3.5 inch staple length.  It has a lovely drape and sheen, as is common with long wools, and is very resilient.  Known for being an excellent wool for beginning spinners.  This blend features 75% BFL wool with 25% Tussah silk, which adds to the luster and drape of this fiber.

Hand dyed using professional acid dyes that are hypoallergenic and meet either Oeko-Tex 100 or organic processing standards. Sold in 4 ounce quantities.

Care: Handwash with tepid water and a wool wash (we recommend Unicorn Fibre Wash). Lay flat to dry. This fiber will felt!

Because of the dye method, individual braids within a dyelot are fraternal and there will be variation between braids. Different dyelots will be more like cousins.
